The three-hour free workshops will be run in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide and Perth from mid-April.
Bill Healey, CEO of Printing Industries says the workshops form part of a strategy to tackle the energy cost challenge being faced by the printing industry.
He says, “Energy costs are escalating and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. It’s very important that companies have the best tools at their disposal to manage these costs rather than letting them eat further into profit margins.
“Printing Industries’ goal is to develop a framework to help address the cost challenge and one important aspect of this is delivering useful and practical information and support tailored to printing business structures.”
Healey adds that in addition to demonstrating how to minimise energy consumption within existing structural and technology conditions, the seminars would also provide information on developments in digital and conventional printing press technology and their role in maximising energy efficiency.
He continues, “We will also be providing information on the results of our recent energy survey and on how our new Buying Group for members can facilitate cheaper electricity purchasing, which we have already established can be in the vicinity of 11 per cent for a mid-sized printing company.”

- Brisbane – International Virginia, April 17
- Sydney – Printing Industries Office Auburn, April 18
