Gary Donnison, PIAA CEO, says www.printnet.com.au has undergone major redevelopment following more than 12 months research, planning and development.
“We now have a self managed one-stop shop where our members can find information to help manage their staff, meet taxation obligations, research industry trends, benchmark, buy a book, order training, find the latest industry news, see what’s on – all at their fingertips,” he says.
Donnison says the PIAA, as the advocate and support organisation for businesses in the print, packaging and visual communication industry in Australia, daily provides expertise and information to members via the traditional avenues of personal contact, phone, fax, post and e-mail.
“Using PrintNet as a repository for much of this information is an extension of service commitment and an important step enhancing the relationship with our members and our role as the peak body,” he says.
PrintNet industry resources include entry to PrintNet Benchmarking Online, employment opportunities, software resources, local and international industry association areas, industry research and reports, regional news, industry policy and lobbying updates.
A revamped industry diary, What’s On, makes finding local and international events easier than ever with new search and sort functions.
Member Only resources include electronic access to all Federal and State Industrial Awards and related information; template workplace documents; employment agreements, new versions of Recruitment and Termination procedures; Recommended Terms and Conditions of Trade, electronic Business Diagnostic Tools, Taxation information and trade development reports and tools.
Members also have exclusive access to Occupational Health Safety and Environment information; Industry Trends archive access and discount publication and training course pricing.
“Future enhancements include discussion forums, a technology section and a printer search facility allowing potential customers to search for the most suitable print solution provider from PIAA members. It will be searchable by product, process and location and supported by an extensive marketing campaign in 2005,” says Donnison.
“There is still much to be done, refinements to be made and services to be developed. But importantly a major step to improve access to relevant business and industry information and relieve the frustration of having to sift through mountains of e-mails and websites across the globe in search of information has been taken.”
