Platypus Graphics orders Rapida 106 to assist with growth

Aaron Lusch, sales director at Platypus Graphics told Australian Printer that for the past 10 years the company had made a commitment to package printing however in the last 18 months the company has seen significant growth in its packaging print work. He adds this latest investment will assist the printshop’s growth in the Queensland market.

He says, “The new KBA will improve our productivity and complement our existing presses, due to the recent growth we found it necessary to invest in a machine which could assist us with our current work as well as provide potential for new work.”

Lusch continues, “It’s our philosophy not to over capitalise but to continue to invest so as not to stagnate our business. As a family business we are careful to ensure that we make only the right investments and those that are within our means.”

“We bought a packaging business in the late nineties in order to diversify and we have spent a lot of time since building our credibility in the packaging market.”

The new KBA will accompany Platypus Graphics’ Komori L40 ten-colour, Komori L28 six-colour, and a Roland 700 six-colour UV.

According to KBA the Rapida 106 features ‘super-fast’ job changes, along with a rated output of 18,000sph in straight printing and 15,000sph in perfecting mode, a high level of automation and inline quality management.
