PMP’s magazine distribution arm moves into iPad apps

Gordon and Gotch managing director Craig Davison told ProPrint the initial launch was not a move away from print, but rather a digital offering to accompany the ink-based publications it distributes.

He added: “Being realistic, we can see that over the next 10 years there will be a circulation decrease and it’s a known fact that the industry is already on a decline.

“But right now print is still number one and our digital solution will offer advertisers another platform to work from with the option for dynamic content.”

Davison (pictured) said Gordon and Gotch would be working with Magazine Cloner, an international app developer, to make various publications available through both Apple and Android.

Digital work will be organised through a new company division, GGA Digital, with the first app planned to go live next month.

Gordon and Gotch said it represents around 4,400 mass media and special interest publications and distributes 190 million magazines per year.
