Presstek joins with EskoArtwork to increase customer base

Also under the agreement, Presstek will reference-sell other EskoArtwork products into its customer base, which will further expand the companies’ workflow offerings for medium to large-size printing businesses.

Presstek says the announcement is part of its continuing plan to build a product portfolio that provides fully integrated digital solutions and services in order to strengthen relationships with its customers. Presstek Latitude was demonstrated at drupa and will become available later this year.

Jeff Jacobson, president of Presstek says, “As our customers grow their businesses and as we bring our digital offset solutions into larger printing businesses, it is important for Presstek to offer a range of workflow alternatives,”

Presstek Latitude, the first product to be launched as a result of the partnership, is an automated prepress workflow, powered by EskoArtwork, that streamlines throughput and processing of files.

The company says its Presstek Latitude supports native PDF 1.7 format and the latest standards in JDF and Certified PDF JDF job tickets. It can be initiated by an MIS system sending JDF/JMF to the workflow and utilised throughout the production process to reduce the need for human intervention.

It contains a wide range of prepress tools including EskoArtwork Neo, a PDF editor, which Presstek says easily accommodates last minute changes. It includes advanced screening technologies, trapping tool, and integrated imposition options, which ensure high quality, efficiency and productivity, according to Presstek.
