Print CEOs sleep rough for charity

Brigstocke, chief executive of the Opus Print Group, and Frost, chief executive of Sydney printer Cheque Mates, are participating in the Sydney leg of the St Vincent de Paul Society’s ‘CEO Sleepout’.

Brigstocke and Frost, along with other chief executives at events across Australia, will experience homelessness firsthand on 17 June, spending a wintry night outdoors with only a piece of thin cardboard and a sleeping bag.

Brigstocke told ProPrint that he was introduced to the initiative by an industry colleague.

“Seeing some of the facts on the homeless, I felt a bit guilty I wasn’t doing my bit as a CEO,” he said.

“I felt compelled enough to do what little I could to help out. Unless we experience it, we don’t really feel the pain,” added Brigstocke.

Brigstocke has said he is hoping to raise at least $5,000, and is encouraging others to get involved in the initiative.

Donations can be made through Brigstocke and Frost’s profile pages on the CEO Sleepout website.

The CEO Sleepout has run since 2006 and aims to raise money and awareness of the 105,000 Australians forced to sleep outside every night.
