Ipex World Summit 2014

Richard Watson, Benny Landa and Frank Romano will speak at the 2014 Ipex World Print Summit

The organisers of the World Print Summit, the conference element to Ipex, say the 15 keynote speakers and 25 presentations will shed light on the future of print. Richard Watson, so-called futurologist and author, will forecast developments for the next 25 years, while Clive Humby, developer of supermarket giant Tesco’s clubcard, will hone in on big data and using it to promote loyalty through understanding your customers through print. Barry Hibbert, chief executive with Polestar, the UK’s biggest printer, says, “The speaker line-up reflects the attraction of an international event with such a rich heritage. This is important because while everyone knows that we are operating in a very difficult economic climate not everyone realises how robust the industry is and how you can still prosper within it. “Print has consistently proven to be a sound business model, and while we should embrace digital and online channels, history dictates that print has to be at the forefront of what we do. You can see by what Polestar is still achieving that print is still a force to be reckoned with. I believe this will be evident across Ipex 2014.” Benny Landa, founder and CEO of Landa, adds, “The Ipex 2014 World Print Summit provides a forum for industry leaders to explore factors impacting the industry – from the mindset of consumers and service providers to new technologies such as Nanography – which herald a paradigm shift for printing in the 21st century.” Futurologist Watson says, “Like so many industries print is going through revolutionary times with the full impact of the digital world still being discovered. I am really looking forward to exploring some of the scenarios for this fascinating industry.”
