
Burns had spent more than two years in a sales role at DES, which distributes EFI’s wide-format range, after selling his business Full Impact to Brite Solutions almost six years ago. He takes on a newly created business development role at HP.
“The experience of owning my own business and investing in technology, combined with my involvement in helping other companies to buy equipment has given me a strong empathy to the purchasing decision of users,” he said.
Shane Lucas, HP director for graphic arts South Pacific, said Burns was a welcome addition to the team.
“Phillip is a well-known industry identity who comes to the position with a raft of experience in digital printing,” he said.
“Having been a business owner of a digital print company, Phillip is well versed in the practical applications for this technology and the market opportunities. It is this experience that we see directly benefitting our customers.”
