The equipment in question was a Palamides automatic folder/stacker, which is set to become a valuable addition to the production floor at Melbourne commercial print house Printlinx, of which Todisco is managing director.
“I saw the Palamides about four or five years ago and I thought it was a brilliant machine. I always wanted one since,” Todisco told ProPrint on the MAN Ferrostaal stand at PacPrint. “Finally I made the decision to purchase one.”
Until now, folding in the Printlinx bindery involved a lot more manual input, with onerous transfers of folded product to bundlers. Now it will be automated, adding to productivity.
Port Melbourne-based Printlinx, which has a staff of some 200, already has a considerable amount of equipment from MAN Ferrostaal, including a Kolbus hard cover line, embossing machine, case maker and perfect binder.
