Public encouraged to test QuarkXpress 7

Free beta versions of QuarkXPress 7 for Power PC-based Macs and Windows are now available and provide an early look at the upcoming release.

QuarkXPress 7 beta version for Intel will be available by the end of January, with the production version of both to follow later this year.

“The powerful combination of Mac OS X ’Tiger’, Apple hardware and QuarkXPress 7 will provide creative professionals with an intuitive and collaborative publishing solution for world class design,” Ron Okamoto, Apple’s vice president of worldwide developer relations, told UK’s PrintWeek.

Quark is encouraging users to take the opportunity to engage with a community of other beta users, report issues, request feature enhancements in future releases, and take a hands-on look at the new features before QuarkXPress 7 is released.

Go to http://www.quark.com/products/xpress/seven/beta.html to sign up for the public beta program.

The pre-release version will be functional until March 31, 2006.
