Under the theme ‘take a fresh look at QLM’ the company opened its doors to highlight significant developments the company has made since being awarded the Queensland Print Industry Award for Business Excellence in 2008. The company recently installed their latest printing press: the ECS 340 which takes their Gallus Press count to three.
Organisers says that the event also provide the opportunity for victors to see QLM’s Turret Rewinder and Waste Extraction Unit in operation, all part of a strategy for a leaner, greener company with significant waste reduction and productivity improvements.
The event was attended by Ferdinand Reusch, president of Gallus as well as James Rodden, managing director of Gallus Australia. Commenting on QLM Reusch says, “The company has grown up so much in such a small period of time, yet our relationship is still like doing business with a friend.”
Local MP Judy Spence also commented at the event saying, “It is so great to see a company that has grown and developed into one of Australia’s leading label printing companies particularly given the global financial crisis.”
