QuadTech Asia Pacific manager David Mitchell says Plunkett and Johnson has already been distributing QuadTech products in both countries for 17 years. “Plunkett & Johnson has an established reputation in the newspaper market in Australia and New Zealand, together with a vast experience of web offset commercial printing,” says Mitchell.
“With the continued convergence of newspaper and commercial web offset printing, we feel that our customers will be best served by one supplier, Plunkett and Johnson, and we are excited about expanding upon our long-term relationship.”
Headquartered in the US, QuadTech, sells its automated auxiliary control systems and material-handling products in 85 countries to the web offset newspaper and commercial markets, and the gravure and publication markets.
Plunkett and Johnson managing director Alex Imre says they will be able to represent Quadtech to a broader customer base. “Over the years, QuadTech has taken a major share of the ancillary press market in Australia and New Zealand. We look forward to continuing an excellent level of service to these, as well as to all potential new customers,” says Imre.
The deal came into effect on July 31, 2005.
