Managing director Mark Osborne told ProPrint that the Toowoomba firm had raised its turnover from $5 million to $6.5 million after collecting some “large client wins” and losing almost no major accounts.
“Whatever our clients want, they get… We rarely lose anybody who spends $10,000 per year and almost never lose anybody who spends more than $20,000 per year,” he said.
He said Greenridge has focused on evolving from a printer into a solutions provider spanning printing, mailing, print management and web design since buying a small mailing business in October 2010.
“We’re not in the print industry any longer. We’re in the communications industry,” he said.
“Our core client base are solid, well-performing businesses, so when those businesses think of something they want, they think Greenridge. We offer the whole solution to all of our customers.”
The 30-staff family operation has a “really strong service ethos” that includes a money-back guarantee on late jobs, said Osborne.

Greenridge installed a Drupa-ordered Heidelberg guillotine system on 23 October to eliminate a bottleneck in the bindery. That followed the commissioning of two more Drupa investments – a Horizon folder in September and HP Indigo 3550 in August.
The firm also has two A2 five-colour Ryobi presses, two A3 two-colour Ryobis, one single-colour A3 Fuji Xerox, a Fuji Xerox 700 and an Agfa Anapurna flatbed.
Osborne told ProPrint that the firm had budgeted for modest growth this year as the focus would be on making staff more efficient and bedding-in the new equipment.
“We’re in a year of consolidation at the moment and I won’t be out there aggressively seeking new accounts because we went through such a big spurt last year,” he said.
Osborne said the firm had taken an important step in positioning itself for future growth by doubling its factory space to 1800sqm in 2010.
Greenridge was a $300,000 business when the family acquired it in 1993, he said. Osborne works alongside his wife Fran, who is a director, and sons Kyal, printing general manager, and Luke, mail general manager.
