Renz, who recently acquired Masterbind Pty Ltd, has made the appointment as part of its global expansion of its professional and office binding equipment operations.

Managing director of Renz Masterbind, Rod Fowler, says Disney’s wealth of experience will be of great benefit to the company’s Australian sales division.

“Renz have had a great success in over 80 countries worldwide. We identified the opportunity in the Victorian professional and office binding market as critical to our Australian plans and we are pleased to get someone of Gary’s experience on the team,” he says.

“Renz is investing heavily in our region and a lot of thought and effort has gone into putting together the right team to take the business forward,” says Fowler.

Disney, is well qualified for the new role, bringing with him over 25 years experience in the industry, which includes 16 years of running his own business Disney Binding, and a further nine years experience as state manager for Gestetner’s Victoria and Tasmania division, as well as in a variety of sales roles with Remington and Itek Products.

For Disney the opportunity to represent Renz is a great opportunity to apply his knowledge in an industry becoming more and more competitive for the smaller binding supplier. Disney says working under the banner of a truly international company provides advantages in supply and logistics.

“The industry has changed a lot in recent years,” he admits, the quality from many manufacturers is reducing to meet price points and it is becoming harder and harder for the smaller reseller to provide competitive pricing on consumables for their customers,” explains Disney.

“I welcomed the opportunity to merge Disney Binding with Renz Masterbind. Having the resources of global company behind you and the considerable advantage of the manufacturer going direct to the market is a very exciting opportunity,” he says.

According to Disney, the Renz operation is of the highest quality products and service, and the company has a reputation that is considerably attractive to customers in Australia.

“Renz is now the world leader in the manufacture of Ring Wire and their equipment is widely recognised as the best quality available on the market. This certainly will make my job easier,” says Disney.
