Ricoh recognised as world environment leader

The award acknowledges Ricoh’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility which forms part of a global strategy by the Ricoh Group to protect the planet.

A company that makes the Global 100 produces an overall positive impact on society and the environment. It must exhibit demonstrated performance and strategic ability to manage the triple bottom line (society, environment and economy).

Companies were rated on a range of criteria including strategic governance, environmental initiatives and human capital/labour relations practices. Research and analysis for the list was conducted by Innovest, a leading environmental investment advisory firm.

The annual World Economic Forum is attended by the world’s industry and political leaders. At this year’s forum these leaders espoused the Global 100 as trailblazers and potential allies in helping to create a better world.

And in another world first, the Ricoh Company has received accreditation for an emission-measuring eco laboratory by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Germany. This recognition is normally reserved for specialised testing laboratories, making Ricoh the first manufacturer in the world to be accredited.
