Rima-System cuts production times with new trimmer

The company says the main advantages of the new system includes noise reduction by downward dissipation of all the noise, increased safety of the shingled stream, and perfect visual control of the trimming area and easy access to all machine parts.
In addition, the new trimmer offers an increase in automation and ease of operation, shortened make-ready times through electric format adjustment with servo-motors, easy operation via a large graphical touch-screen-panel, perfect workflow-integration via SPS-control and JDF-interface, and fast change of products thanks to job storage and retrieval of up to 128 jobs.

The trimming technology has been taken over from the proven RS 820 rotary trimmer. Rima-System says shingled stream aligners, zero backlash adjustment and integrated knife cooling guarantee a perfect, precise trim. Besides serrated carbide knives it is also possible to use segmented knives. Optionally a trimming lower knife can be used which ensures a more regular trim especially with thick products in offset and rotogravure. A metal knife cover has been integrated for an improved operating safety.
