Roland DG is offering a new benchtop flatbed UV inkjet printer, the VersaUV LEF-20, for the packaging, prototyping and custom promotional product markets.

VersaUV LEF-20
The LEF-20 prints directly onto a variety of substrates, including PET, ABS, polycarbonate, leather and fabric, and objects such as golf balls, key chains, pens, metal tablet covers, smart phone cases and awards. Roland says the unit prints at more than twice the speed – with CMYK and gloss varnish, and UV-LED lamp curing the ink – than the previous model. John Wall, sales director at Roland DG Australia, says, “We have taken this technology to the next level. In addition to expanding the print area we have introduced a new LED curing system, advanced ECO-UV inks, and optimised print control technology which increase the LEF’s productivity and overall performance. “Since its introduction two years ago the LEF series has opened up new creative possibilities for businesses, enabling direct printing on a wide variety of solid materials.” The LEF-20 prints directly onto materials measuring up to 508mm wide, 330mm long and 100mm high. The printer can also store up to 20 different presets for the print area and height position, allowing users to automatically set up for their regular jobs. The machine also features an enclosed airtight cover to protect the operator from UV light during printing and prevent dust from settling on the surface of materials.
