Egan, chairman and director of Roland DG, who founded the company in 1988, decided to retire at the end of 2010. Roland DG described Egan as an integral part of the company who will definitely be missed. He made significant contributions to the management team and direction of Roland DG in Australia and New Zealand, including the music division, Roland Corporation and the company thanked him for his contribution and friendship to the people in the company.
Marc Margetts, managing director of Roland DG, said, “I am honoured to have been mentored and directed by John during my 20 years at Roland DG. John has always offered direction based on solid experience and business acumen and sometimes the devil’s advocate approach to business decisions, which in reflection assisted me to build a strong team. I would personally like to thank John and wish him all the very best for the future in his retirement.”
The company’s management changes start with John Wall’s appointment as sales director. In this new role, Wall will take on a more strategic role within Roland DG and will be working closely with sales, business development, service and marketing teams.
Roland DG has appointed Daniel Biddle to the role of group leader of the service team, who it says has over the last four years gained a wealth of knowledge and experience with the company and products, adding that one of his first challenges is to further strengthen the service offerings and continue to provide the industry’s best after sales care programme.
The company says it has strategically positioned Conrad Birkett, its business development manager, within the company in an integral role to bring to market a number of new product offerings from Roland DG in the near future.
Margetts concludes, “The new appointments and internal re-structuring decisions were an important step to make as we prepare ourselves for continued growth in the coming years. This new structure re aligns the company to allow for continued change and adaptation to market and customer needs as we continue to forge new ground and show leadership within the industry.”
