Perth family-owned outfit Scott Print was the big winner at the Printing Industries Association of Australia's WA PICAs securing 12 golds during the awards ceremony held over the weekend.
Scott Print is involved in the digital, offset and large format markets and scored gold in the following categories: FutureNow Commitment to Workforce Development, Environment Award, leaflets/folded leaflets; booklets, catalogues, magazines (also won for over 80 pages), bookprinting digital case bound (also won for offset), bookprinting digital limp bound (also won for offset), self-promotion and the best of category.
Scott Print director John Scott says the company is stoked with its haul of gold medals and thanks staff, suppliers and clients for their contribution.
“It highlights our commitment to quality and reward our clients, the overwhelming success solidifies the importance of many of the company wide changes that we have made over recent years, from technology to staff investment," he says.
"The Environmental Excellence gold rewards our commitment to environmental sustainability and gold for the FutureNow Commitment to Workforce Development is great recognition to our team and the value we place on each individual and their personal development.
"Finally the gold awards and evening’s ‘Best of’ is testament to our awesome team and clients, and solidifies the investment we have made across offset and digital technology with our medal haul coming from across all of our print offering."
Scott Print is one of the ten printers in WA which has teamed up with the Autism Association of WA, and currently has two autistic members on its team – Nathan and Elliot.
Fellow Perth printer Advance Press came second in the award tally, winning five gold for: booklets, catalogues and magazines up to 32 pages (won for both digital and offset), tied for gold with Scott Print and Quality Press for booklets, catalogues and magazines up to 80 pages and tied with Scott Print for gold in both digital and offset bookprinting case bound.
Advance Press specialises in digital, offset, large format and variable data printing. In September it purchased 89 year-old print outfit Pilpel Print and its sister company, Print Finishing Line for an undisclosed sum.
Gold was the lucky colour of the WA PICAs as the night was Gold Logie themed, a Dame Edna impersonator also entertained the crowd throughout the night.
