Several Perth print heavyweights battled it out for gold at the Printing Industries Association's Western Australia PICA awards, with Scott Print striking twelve golds, and keeping its title as awards champion.
Scott Print won the night this year with a mammoth collection of awards after scoring a dozen gold, four silver and ten bronze gongs. Also collecting a suite of gold was Advance Press with five wins and Quality Press and Multi-Color winning four gold apiece.
Adding to its ten category wins, Scott Print scored two special gold awards for FutureNow Commitment to Workforce Development and the Environmental accolade. The Perth printer also collected the coveted best of category award for its job titled The VT Collection.
Last year the PICAs were replaced by a smaller event known as the Western Australia ball, where Advance Press took out top honours with the best of category award.
Advance and Scott’s award rivalry dates back some years after the two Perth printers were locked in a tie for the 2014 PICAs, scoring the same amount of gold each.
During the ceremony Westcare apprentice Jay Brown was also recognised with the Media Super Young Executive of the Year Award. Brown was also awarded the Heidelberg Graduate of the Year gong this year for Western Australia.
