The company says this is testimony to its continued success and growth worldwide. At drupa, it has sought to maintain its high level of innovation from recent years, introducing a new digital offset press, four new CTP systems and fully JDF-enabled workflow modules.
The complete ranbge of the company‚s CTP products were on display, along with the brand new Truepress 344 which demonstrated the latest in processless plate technologies and advanced automation, according to Screen.
Following the recent commercial launch of processless plates by both Agfa (Azura) and KPG (Thermal Direct), Screen showed processless plate imaging in action on its booth. Visitors got the opportunity to see Screen’s PlateRite CTP systems imaging both thermal and processless plate technology.
The new CTP systems include output from 2-up to very large formats. The use of GLV imaging technology is an important factor in boosting the productivity of some models. The PlateRite series now p has the flexibility to provide solutions tailored to each individual production volume.
Given that it was the JDF drupa, Screen‚s introduction of new production modules to its Trueflownet operating environment was a significant step. Trueflownet provides a JDF-based end to end operating environment designed to drive highly-automated and streamlined print ordering and production, with fully integrated print production management.
The TruePress 344 was probably the highlight of the Screen display at drupa. An automated, four colour, A3+ digital press, the TruePress is stacked with a range of features.
It is designed as a professional production machine, providing high return on investment quickly. With a maximum printing speed of 7000 A3+ sheets per hour, the four colour press produces a 500 sheet single-sided job from start to finish in less than 15 minutes. Fast makereadies of five minutes are achieved using a combination of high speed 830nm multi array laser diode (MALD) imaging with a new processless plate technology from Konica Minolta.
