Heidelberg has sold over 1000 printing units of the new Speedmaster SX series worldwide since it showcased the Speedmaster SX 52/SX 52 Anicolor, SX 74, and SX 102 series at the drupa 2012 trade show in Dusseldorf.
Shane Hanlon, head of product management and remarketed equipment, Heidelberg ANZ told Australian Printer, “From a local Heidelberg Australia and New Zealand perspective, since the release of the Speedmaster SX range of presses we have sold a total of 37 units across the various format sizes. Consistent with trends in other markets around the world the bulk of these units sold in ANZ are in the SX 52 format. I believe our market is comfortable with the proven technology offered with the Speedmaster SX and this coupled with new features and design elements filtering down from the XL presses have added great appeal to the product range.
Hanlon says, “The SX range of press are highly energy efficient due to the tried and tested cylinder concept that ensures reliable sheet travel with minimum air requirements. Low air consumption reduces energy requirements significantly. This coupled with the new range of Perfect Jacket Blue Impression and Transfer jacket technology have made for a truly trouble free sheet transfer with a lower energy requirements and as we know power consumption and the ever increasing cost of it in our market is major factor in our overall cost to manufacture.
“The availability of other Heidelberg technology options like Anicolor for the SX 52 format and Inpress Control for the SX 74 and 102 range have made these presses high performance. The New release option of AutoPlate Pro for the SX 102 format has added a completely new dimension to this press, especially in the long perfecting models. We see the Speedmaster SX as an efficient, value adding, high performance press for those customers looking to reduce their overall cost to manufacture.” Hanlon concludes.
