The big news is RRD’s inkjet with KBA offset

When word came out that KBA was partnering with the world’s biggest printer, RR Donnelley (RRD), to work on new inkjet technology, it was easy to see it as just another announcement of a digital-offset partnership, coming barely a week after news broke about Heidelberg’s Ricoh deal. It’s a lot more than that. Of the recent digital moves from litho press makers, this is the most noteworthy because it goes beyond distribution and addresses technology development.
