Molecular magic
Over the past two years, rising energy costs coupled with demands for faster turnround times have driven printers to seek out all manner of technological innovation. On the energy side, the industry is beginning to see the introduction of voltage optimisation and power factor correction schemes. Simultaneously, presses are decked out with automated makeready and waste reduction features that maximise the amount of saleable sheets on the pallet in the minimum time. These two separate thrusts converge under the umbrella of machine energy efficiency, and it’s here that some exciting technology developments are taking place.
