Melbourne based family owned business TC Printing has invested in a new Heidelberg XL106 10-colour press, which will run in tandem with the company’s existing Speedmaster 102 eight colour press. The new press will replace an older Speedmaster 74. Shant Chullu, general manager, TC Printing told Australian Printer, “We looked at three other presses, but the Heidelberg ticked all the boxes and it is the best in its class. We will be using it for packaging, commercial and POS work.”
Chullo says, “The main motivation for the purchase of the XL106 was to increase our efficiency, while being able to respond promptly to client demand. It will speed up our workflow and deliver greater productivity. Also with Inpress Control integrated directly into the press, colour is guaranteed to be consistent from start to finish.” TC Printing was established in 1981 by Tom Chullo and his wife Christine who set up a small business from their home garage, printing wedding stationery, and has since grown to 30 full time staff. Chullu says, “In today’s market there is a lot of hype about online. However the fact is that print has remained the most effective marketing channel. It’s proven with higher response rates, and is viewed as a more trustworthy source.” He says, “For example, end users generally spend more time reading a postcard or letters than they do an email. The only issue is cost those companies that have sufficient marketing budgets to allow for the cost of print should not cut back on this form of advertising.” “There’s an old expression, ‘Would you destroy a clock to save a little time?’ Us heavily investing in new technology like the XL106 is a testament to proven sales resulting from print,” concludes Chullo.
