Tensor Group ships sixth print tower to Sydney’s MPD

Linda Tenenbaum, managing director of MPD, formerly Marrickville Print and Design, says, “We’ve completed six separate equipment orders with Tensor over the past nine years, and each one has been very well serviced by both Tensor and National Printing Equipment (NPE), Tensor’s local representative.”

The expanded line will run 32 pages of four-colour tabloids, plus 32 additional pages of black through the existing mono units. Martina Ruda, vice president Tensor Group, says, “Tensor has been MPD’s press supplier of choice since 2002, and we’re incredibly proud to continue to serve MPD as its business needs have exponentially grown and changed over the last decade. It’s been a pleasure to watch MPD achieve its goals and time its major press acquisitions as each milestone is reached.”

MPD describes itself as Sydney’s highest quality, fully independent cold web offset print shop. Now in its 29th year of operation, it also operates a second eight-web pressline at its Alexandria site, with two Tensor four-highs, an H-50 folder and six mono units. The company says that all towers are equipped with EPG remote inking, boosting start-up and makeready times, and controlling waste.

Tenenbaum concludes, “What sets the Tensor towers and folders apart is the thoughtful, printer-friendly design, the extraordinarily high standard of workmanship that goes into the construction, and the reliability. And, NPE is always there to provide whatever information and support we need.”
