Michael Liley, managing director and owner of The Printing Department told Australian Printer the investment will enable the company to provide a complete service to its clients and adds that in line with expansion plans the move into digital was a logical step.
He says, “The Truepress is more economical for our short runs than our offset presses as it’s quicker to set up and run and gives us additional capacity when our production floor gets busy.
Liley, who has owned The Printing Department for just nine months, also says the new machine will enable the company to source new customers and provide greater flexibility to its existing clients.
He continues, “We have had a recent influx of new clients and our new capabilities will ensure it continues. With our digital solutions we are also able to offer more options in terms of delivery times.”
According to Screen the Truepress 344 is an A3 four-color digital offset press that uses processless thermal plates, which do not require chemical processing. The manufacturer outlines that fast plate imaging on the Truepress is achieved by using a multi array laser diode imaging head that can expose four printing plates simultaneously within three minutes.
