Van Praag came to Océ Display Graphics Systems from Océ-Japan Corporation, where he served as president and representative director. Prior to that, he was director of sales and marketing for Océ-Japan. Van Praag has held successive management positions in Océ companies throughout the world including International marketing director at Océ Technologies in Venlo, the Netherlands and managing director of Océ Singapore. Van Praag also held the position of sales executive at Schlumberger Graphics, which was acquired by Océ in 1989.

Van Praag holds a master of Management and Organisation degree from Tilburg University in the Netherlands, and served as a Navy Officer in the Royal Netherlands Navy.

Océ Display Graphics Systems is a developer of production digital printing and imaging equipment. It manufactures a range of solutions specifically designed for the print-for-pay display graphics market, including the Océ Arizona® line of outdoor durable printers and the Océ LightJet® family of photo laser printers. Océ Display Graphics Systems is based in a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and is a business group of the Wide Format Printing Systems strategic business unit of Océ N.V., based in the Netherlands. Its products are sold through Océ direct sales representatives and select distribution channels worldwide
