Positive Camtec had its new nine picolitre swissQprint Nyala on display as well as its new Kern laser system for 3D signage and engraving.
The company says that by reducing the dot size to nine picolitre, swissQprint has increased the visible resolution from 1350 dpi to 2160 dpi. With crisp and legible text down to 2pt, it says it can rival offset press quality on a fully flexible digital flatbed printer. The device gives its users an additional production mode for ultra-exacting photo print work with fine colour gradations. The company says it is ideal for subjects that require uniform expanses of colour without screening artefacts.
It adds that small print runs and prototypes may be displayed confidently alongside offset reproductions, and that the smaller droplets represent an attractive extension of capabilities for digital printers.
