Watson has been a member of Printing Industries employee relations team since joining the association at its Sydney National Office in 2005.
Philip Andersen CEO of Printing Industries says Watson’s role as national manager employee relations, OH&S and legal took into account his legal background and the evolving nature of advice being sought by members.
Andersen says, “Much of this is related to members needing assistance with intellectual property and other commercial related issues. This is in addition to the traditional employment issues.
“Charles worked closely with Ken and is one of our most experienced staff with expertise across all aspects of employee relations including legislative and legal issues.”
Watson said he appreciated the confidence placed in him by the Board and CEO to take on this role. He says, “The industry faces complex and continually evolving challenges and the period ahead looks no less interesting.
“I am proud to be leading a diligent and hard working national team of advisers and look forward to continuing to provide members with pragmatic commercially driven advice and services.”
Watson said he believed there would be some interesting times ahead in employment relations with the ever increasing employer responsibilities and regulation of businesses.
He continues, “There are already numerous issues simmering away that will come to the boil later this year which we will be looking to proactively raise with our members to ensure they are fully informed and where necessary have their voices heard by the responsible authorities.”
