Hughes will take the position of business development manager at the six-staff Perth business, having previously managed larger accounts at Corporate Express.
West Print chief executive Neil Clark, who established the company 11 years ago, said now was the perfect time to start servicing larger clients.
“Three years ago we started investing in our print management system particularly in relation to the online sector. With our new online facility we can service large, multi-branch companies,” he said.
“We have completed all the training and increased the size of premises, we have been rapidly expanding and have completed the business model.
“We now need someone to take it to those bigger clients.”
Clark said West Print was attracted by Hughes’ experience, skill-set and hands-on approach.
“Essentially its getting up onto the next level of clients who want the sophistication of the delivery system, spearheading us for larger clients,” he said
According to West Print, 95% of clients’ work is printed in Western Australia by more than 50 printers.
