Zünd celebrates 25th anniversary with company expansion

The company has expanded into a new factory, which is also Switzerland’s first Minergie-P certified industrial building.

The certification recognises low energy-consumption buildings, with Zünd claiming its facility expansion uses five times less energy than newly-constructed conventional buildings and produces five times less carbon dioxide.

Founder Karl Zünd said: “These days we are virtually surrounded by products that come off our cutters – products that at some stage have been cut, routed, or scored with Zünd equipment.”

The flatbed cutter manufacturer was founded by Zünd in 1984 and now employs 125 staff.

Zünd himself used the opportunity to announce that he will pass day-to-day operations to his sons but will actively remain as part of the company’s management.
