AIP call for help with Christmas Foodbank hampers

The Australian Institute of Packaging is calling for volunteers and donations for its annual Foodbank hamper packing day which has been held on the day of its Christmas Party for the last eight years.

In 2018 over 200 people packed 1400 hampers for Foodbank to help make the holiday season just a little brighter for many needy families across Australia.

Among the hampers packed were 1000 family hampers and 300 ladies packs plus back to school hampers to help with much needed stationery items with the total value of goods donated valued at over $100,000.

AIP chief executive officer Nerida Kelton is again putting out the call for the industry to donate their time, money or goods to include in the hampers this year at the event on December 6, 2019.

“All of industry is invited to donate items to the hampers, funds to assist with the purchase of items, or attend and participate on the actual packing day on the 6th of December. We do hope that you join us in 2019 for this wonderful program and to help us meet the $1 million mark in donations for Foodbank,” she said.
