Allkotes brings germ fighting finishing to Aus

Print finishing provider Allkotes has introduced a new anti-bacterial laminating film to the Australian market, aimed at combatting the onslaught of colds and flus.

AntiKote is an anti-bacterial laminating film available in gloss or matte which can be applied to a print substrate to kill 99 per cent of known bacteria.

Allkotes business development manager Darren Delaney says market demand prompted Allkotes to bring the AntiKote solution to Australia.

“With everyone worried about germs at the moment we felt a heavier commitment to bring this to the market,” he says.

“So we sourced a supplier that had this particular product and we worked with them to be able to bring it to Australia.”

Allkotes says AntiKote can be used on a range of printed materials such as restaurant menus, book covers, magazines, and pharmaceutical cartons and labels.

Delaney says laboratory testing has confirmed AntiKote’s ability to kill 99 per cent of bacteria for a 12 month period. However after the 12 months has expired, the film will maintain its gloss or matte film qualities for the life time of its intended use.

Delaney advises the price tag of AntiKote is dependent upon sheet size and quantity, he says, “It is dearer than traditional gloss and matte but by no means is the cost over the top.”

AntiKote is now available in Australia through Allkotes.
