Fuji Xerox Australia scores Ecolabel environmental performance award

The range of office multifunction devices from Fuji Xerox Australia has achieved the Environmental Choice Mark ecolabelling certification for excellence in environmental performance. Fuji Xerox Australia is the first company in the print industry to receive the environmental product performance license for A3 multifunction devices.

Good Environmental Choice is the only environmental labelling programme in Australia to examine a product’s full life cycle environmental performance. The label is awarded to products that meet voluntary environmental performance standards set by the Global Ecolabelling Network.

“I am very pleased to award this world class recognition to Fuji Xerox Australia after its equipment met our comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment standard criteria,” said Petar Johnson, founder of the Environmental Choice Australia programme.

“Fuji Xerox’s office multifunction devices are world class and offer green procurement officers and green IT specialists a low toxicity, high performance and environmentally sensitive solution. Fuji Xerox’s leadership in integrating environmental and performance attributes within its equipment makes it an excellent choice for governments and corporates in Australia to manage document intensive business processes.”

The current Environmental Choice Mark certification encompasses 20 Fuji Xerox multifunction office devices. To achieve the certification, Fuji Xerox’s products were assessed against 18 criteria including energy usage, emissions, environmentally hazard materials, recycled content requirements and compliance with environmental regulations.

“At Fuji Xerox Australia, we strive to improve our own sustainability performance and that of our customers,” said Amanda Keogh, sustainability manager at Fuji Xerox Australia. “The Environmental Choice certification is part of our ongoing commitment to minimise the environmental impact of our document management systems throughout their life cycle. It reassures customers that they are working with an environmentally responsible business partner who can help them achieve their own carbon and waste reduction targets.”
