FXDMS wins $400,000 ASIC contract

Fuji Xerox Document Management Solutions has won a $400,000-a-year contract to print and distribute official notices for ASIC.

The three year contract includes the printing of two million pieces of official communication between the regulator and businesses every year including notices, advices and renewals.

Executive general manager of sales and marketing Tim Smith says unlike many other government print contracts, this one will be worth slightly more than previous ones.

“ASIC does not have an aggressive strategy to switch to digital, so with more businesses formed all the time there is more correspondence to them that needs printing,” he says.

“The increasing popularity of self-managed super funds is another source of volume growth.”

Smith says FXDMS has held this contract for more than a decade, and says government work is central to its business.

“In these times transactional mail is tough, so contracts like this are important as they are steady and reliable so we take the sector seriously,” he says.

“It also adds to our reputation as it shows us to be reliable and able to meet the demands of clients with high expectations, which makes other sectors feel more comfortable.”

Smith says the looming Australia Post bulk mail price rises will not affect the profitability of this and other contracts because postage is additional to its value, but higher costs always make clients consider their options.

“We have to be more efficient and we try to work with our clients to lower their postage costs and do work for them in other areas like digital,” he says.

The correspondence will be printed on Fuji Xerox 2800s at FXDMS Melbourne, but Smith says it may look to print in multiple states to cut down on postage costs.
