New passports printed on ENVI paper

Manufactured at Australian Paper’s Shoalhaven Mill, ENVI passport paper is certified ‘Greenhouse Friendly’ by the federal government’s Department of Climate Change, the first paper to receive this certification. Australian Paper estimates that roughly 125 tonnes of CO2 will be neutralised through the use of ENVI passport paper.

“The N Series passport represents not just the Australian Government’s commitment to provide its citizens with a travel document which is secure, but one which demonstrates our determination to be responsible environmental managers” said foreign affairs minister Stephen Smith.

Australian Paper has been exclusively supplying the paper used in Australian passports for the last seven years.

“Australian Paper has been at the forefront of delivering products that meet consumer demands for environmental credentials,” said Jim Henneberry, executive general manager of Australian Paper. “We are experiencing a growing adoption rate of ENVI from both Government and ASX listed businesses.”

Australian Paper launched a campaign to get more organisations to use ENVI in September last year.
