Oxford Printing wins work with new Roland DG printer

The Sydney-based company took delivery of the Soljet Pro III XC-540MT last month, having already purchased a Roland DG XJ-640 production printer for signage and banner work.

Oxford general manager Andre De Waele (pictured, right) said: “They are both running day and night at present for a large campaign we have won. We are confident that offering this specialised service will help us to attract more jobs and ultimately add value to our business.”

The printing company said it was drawn to the print and cut features of the XC-540MT, as well as the machine’s use of eco-solvent metallic ink.

De Waele said: “Instead of having to produce plates and offset and foil, we can now deliver short-run print and cut metallic jobs on demand. If a customer wants one metallic poster, they can have it.”

“We have invested in up-to-the-minute technology, state-of-the-art equipment and key industry people to help us maintain the edge required to succeed,” he added.

The XC-540MT was launched into the local market at the Visual Impact Image Expo in October 2009.

Roland DG sales and marketing manager John Wall said the eco-solvent metallic ink feature had generated a huge amount of interest since its release, with Roland DG selling the first XC-540MT just 10 minutes into the show.

“The metallic solution offered by the XC-540MT has been well received by the market and customers who have purchased the product have been very impressed at the results the metallic ink produces,” Wall said.

Based in the suburb of Greenacre, Oxford provides offset, large-format and digital printing to corporate and government clients.

In October, Oxford purchased the 500th Bizhub Pro colour digital press sold by Konica Minolta in Australia.
