PacPrint13: EFI Australia

As well as being represented on its own stand, EFI will take its usual approach of demonstrating on the stands of its many partners and third-party vendors, with

the Fiery RIP shows on the stand of OEM partners such as Fuji Xerox, Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Canon. EFI’s focus will be on intelligent automated workflow and the integration of production and business systems, spotlighting EFI’s product portfolio from ordering online through to production.

These include EFI’s Online Print Solutions (OPS) platform. PacPrint will be the first time the OPS platform has been seen at an Australian trade show since EFI acquired the company last year. The suite boasts a product for every conceivable online customer interaction, including corporate storefronts, job submission, retail sites, online design, variable data printing and multi-touch cross media campaigns.

This latest version of EFI’s Fiery Color Profiler Suite has integrated colour management tools, guaranteeing colour reproduction is always accurate, consistent and reliable, according to the vendor.

A new addition to EFI’s Workflow Suite, the Fiery JobMaster option, was previewed at Drupa 2012 and signals EFI’s push into job creation software. JobMaster provides PDF-based job preparation functions.

The Vutek GS3250LX grand-format LED UV printer, first seen in Australia at the Visual Impact Image Expo in September 2012, will be shown on the stand of EFI’s inkjet partner, Spicers (stand 4218). Making its Australian debut on the Spicers stand will be the EFI R3225 mid-range, 3.2-metre roll-to-roll UV printer.

Over on stand 2624, DES will demonstrate the Vutek QS2 Pro. Launched at Drupa 2012, this two-metre production-level UV printer is driven by the Orion OS software platform.

Star product Online Print Solutions

It is no secret that US software and hardware giant EFI ramped up its acquisition activities over the past 12 months. One of the most relevant takeovers, especially to Australian readers, was its buyout of Online Print Solutions. The e-commerce developer was established here and has gone on to find favour with customers around the world.

PacPrint13 will be the first local show since OPS was brought into the EFI stable. It is timely, with anecdotal evidence that web-to-print will be a big focus for many ProPrint readers.

If a new W2P system is on the shopping list, OrderDesk will be the module to look at. OPS explains that OrderDesk is a web-based W2P solution that enables buyers to select items they wish to purchase from a pre-defined list. They are able to view pricing, determine the quantity and specifications and pay with a credit card.

The OPS suite also includes clever modules for variable-data and cross-media marketing. The Vweb product allows users to create and automate entire multimedia campaigns, including direct mail, personalised URLs, email marketing and more.

It is expected that OPS will be steadily brought under the EFI Digital StoreFront banner over the coming months.
