PacPrint13: Fujifilm Australia

There’s no debate over which Fujifilm products will be the biggest focus at PacPrint13. National product manager Steve Collyer says the new machine that will most captivate visitors is the commercially available Jet Press 540W, a web-fed digital inkjet press. Alongside this device will be its sheetfed sister press, the Jet Press 720. Both machines are getting their first-ever Australian demonstrations during PacPrint.

“The Jet Press technology was officially launched at Drupa 2008 in Germany,” says Collyer. “However, at present Fujifilm has no digital inkjet press in the domestic market, so this will be our local launch, and we’re excited to announce the commercial availability of the Jet Press 540W in the same instance.”

Fujifilm has sold 19 Jet Press 720s worldwide. The first nine machines went to Japan, the US and Canada, within a year of its commercial availability. Eight more sales in these regions have been followed by two sales in Europe.

“This new generation of inkjet digital printing technology enables high-quality, high-speed printing on a large sheet size. Its quality level is comparable to offset printing. This has been achieved by the combination of technologies, including Samba print-head technology for single-pass inkjet printing developed by Fujifilm Dimatix,” says Collyer.

Fujifilm will also focus on new wide-format hardware such as the five-metre superwide-format Uvistar Pro8, the Acuity Advance Select flatbed machine and Acuity LED 1600 hybrid printer.

Fujifilm will also present its processless CTP solution, XMF workflow and ColourGate colour management software, as well as media by Euromedia.
