PIAA calls for industry’s best printers to compete in state awards

The awards, which celebrate excellence in the print, packaging and visual communications, will take place in each state between August and November.

Joe Kowalewski, Printing Industries national communication and technical services manager, said entry cut-off dates would be announced over the next few weeks.

“While the number of industry companies has been declining, the entry numbers have been increasing, making each event more competitive than the last,” he said.

“This is due in part to the changed structure in which the only way to enter the best-of-the best National Print Awards is by winning a gold medal in the state events; the uniform criteria and branding of the PICAs around the country and the increased recognition that winning an award at any level is a valuable marketing tool to use with clients and potential clients.”

Kowalewski said queries on entry criteria should be directed to the Printing Industries office in the relevant state.

“General information, including links to previous PICA results and the results and photos from this year’s National Print Awards are available in the PICA and NPA Information section of PrintNet via this link or by calling 1800 227 425,” he said.
