TV star Lauren Phillips to host Victorian PICAs

The Printing Industry Craftsmanship Awards (PICA) dinner will be held at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins on 9 November, three days after the Melbourne Cup.

Phillips works on Channel Nine programs Postcards, Go! and A Current Affair. She is also an ambassador for Country Racing Victoria and has hosted ‘Fashions on the Field’ for Myer.

“I have a passion for travel and have been fortunate to visit many parts of the world, but in November, there’s no place I’d rather be than in Melbourne for the best of racing, fashion and celebration – and I am looking forward to making the awards dinner a part of this year’s fun and festivities,” she said.

PICA Victoria chairman Trevor Hone, owner of Avon Graphics, said Phillips would “add that wonderful mix of professionalism and glamour” for which the annual dinner is known.

“Once again, guests can look forward to a night of gourmet dining and dancing, excellent entertainment, the opportunity to catch up with industry colleagues and friends and, of course, the opportunity to be one of the first to see this year’s PICA winners,” he said.

Eastern Press was the biggest winner at the 2011 PICAs with four gold medals.

Tickets to this year’s event are $145 plus GST. Click here for more information.
