Agfa offers new workflow and UV inks

Agfa says it has designed Asanti for entry-level and mid-sized production companies who want to streamline their productivity, integrate colour consistency and fidelity. It adds that sign-makers and display producers can improve their efficiency, save time and lower costs across all areas of pre-press and production with Asanti. Previously, they may have had to employ different software elements to implement file handling, colour management, ripping and pre-flighting.

Agfa says, “Asanti can be utilised to bring all these elements together in a single PDF-based workflow, with rendering based on the industry standard APPE (Adobe PDF Print Engine) that enables full JDF control for automated accountability.”

The new workflow is complemented by Asanti StoreFront, a web-to-print system that is based on cloud technology which Agfa says requires minimal up-front investment. It adds, “Asanti StoreFront is an easy to use online shopping solution designed to help users grow their businesses and explore new markets. It handles incoming orders and their status via its dashboard, integrating with Asanti to generate time saving, error free features throughout the job handling process.”

Willy van Dromme, director of marketing for wide format at Agfa, says, “Agfa Graphics is in the powerful position of having built many years expertise with its Apogee workflow for the printing industry. By migrating and adapting the elements relevant for wide format digital printing, the new Asanti solution brings the sign and display industry a fully optimised solution which seamlessly integrates all tools required, simplifying the use of PDF and bringing the benefits of JDF compliance.”

Meanwhile, Agfa has made curable inks available for system integrators, OEM’s and other manufacturing specialists.

The Agfa inks come in a variety of different formulations, researched and developed for specific market sectors and printing systems, and related to printhead, curing systems and application related specifications.

Agfa says each product is designed for optimum productivity, with particular emphasis on offering the best substrate compatibility, jetting performance and reliability.

The Agora and Altamira line of inks comprised inks for wide format printing (multi pass) and single pass printing, aimed at many specific applications, including marking and coding, decoration printing, label printing, packaging printing and object printing.
