Agfa to showcase inkjet advances with a focus on automation and efficiency

Agfa has confirmed that it will showcase its latest inkjet printing solutions at Printing United, including the high-speed Onset X3 HS with robotic automation debuting the new Onset 560 white ink and the efficiency-increasing Flex Roll-to-Roll system on the Tauro H3300 UHS.

The company will promote the Onset X3 HS dual flex high 5, a high-speed flatbed inkjet printer suited for round-the-clock operation, printing on various substrates at a speed of up to 15,600 square feet per hour.

It integrates robotics and other automation features to boost productivity and cost efficiency. At the expo, the printer will be shown in a three-quarter automation setup with a laytable and an unloading robot, driven by Agfa’s Asanti workflow software and running different materials, including corrugated boards and plastics.

The event will also mark the debut of the Onset running white ink. Agfa’s GreenGuard Gold certified UV inks for the Onset offer excellent print quality, an extensive colour gamut and lower print costs thanks to Agfa’s patented Thin Ink Layer technology, reducing ink consumption by up to 30 per cent compared to non-Agfa inks.

Agfa will also bring its fastest hybrid inkjet wide-format printer, the Tauro H3300 UHS, which is designed for reliable print production quality and features multiple automation options. The new HDR screens built into the Asanti workflow software enhance colour gamut and density without compromising speed.

The Tauro H3300 will showcase Agfa’s award-winning Flex Roll-to-Roll system, which boosts printer uptime by seamlessly transitioning from rolls to boards or sheets without undocking.

This compact system is user-friendly and can be operated by a single person. It accommodates single- and dual-roll printing and features an integrated camera system for precise double-sided printing, a feature that will also be demonstrated at the booth.

The Anapurna H3200i LED, which will also be on show, is an inkjet printer model that has proven to meet the diverse needs of mid-volume sign and display companies. Developed for short- to mid-run projects, it handles both sheets/boards and rolls up to 3.2 metres wide, with the option for single- or dual-roll configurations. The white ink function allows printing on transparent material for backlit applications or for printing white as a spot colour.

All printers will be driven by Agfa’s Asanti workflow software, a unique all-in-one print production hub that automates the entire print production process, ultimately saving time and money. The browser-based Production Dashboard offers insights into production time, ink and media usage and interfaces seamlessly with MIS/ERP systems to optimise quotes and post-calculations.

Agfa vice president of inkjet sales for North America Ruben Silva said, “When developing inkjet printing solutions, we always do so with an eye to increased automation, quality, and efficiency. We look forward to discussing print service providers’ business needs and exploring how our integrated offering of printers, inks, software, training, and services can best suit their growth paths and contribute to sustainable success.”
