Amcor wins sustainability award

Amcor was awarded first place in the Corporate Sustainability Awards – Environment category, and was recognised alongside six other finalists representing some of Australia’s largest and best known companies from the finance, resources, retail and manufacturing sectors.

The judges commended Amcor as ‘an all too rare example of a company that has used the principles of environmental sustainability to reposition its product in customers’ and suppliers’ minds’. The judges also recognised Amcor’s ‘persistent process of innovation, product development and education’.

The award recognises Amcor’s total lifecycle approach to packaging sustainability and commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of its operations.

Ken MacKenzie, Amcor CEO and managing director commented: “This is confirmation that our approach to sustainability is world class, and will continue to create value for our shareholders.”
