Anitech upgrade provides more print UV protection

Neil Gomez, business development manager finishing products for Anitech says, “Australian signage has to endure some of the toughest weather on the planet, as we have all witnessed in the past few months. Harshest of all is the UV radiation that will fade and damage every unprotected image over time – regardless of inks.”

Anitech technical staff advise that UV protection can only be gained by using a film or liquid lamination finish. The company adds that liquid lamination is both quicker and cheaper than traditional film lamination and Drytac, with its AFC range of liquid coaters, has made operator usability the first priority with the launch of their upgraded AFC1600 and AFC2200 lamination systems.

Gomez continues, “The new Drytac AFC1600 and AFC2200 systems have major technical improvements, each with the specific aim of making production workflow easier, faster and more productive.”

New features include an end of roll sensor that triggers an audible alarm, alerting the operator that the roll is ending, activating the auto pump shut off and the auto run out systems.

The auto pump shut-off limits the amount of coating in the trough, reducing the amount of drippage and clean up from the roll end and minimising clean up. A mylar sheet, placed on the front of the machine below the Mayer bar, directs coating drips off the roll into the return tray.

Anitech will be demonstrating the AFC1600 and AFC 2200’s new features and the Drytac aqueous liquid laminate range at Anitech showrooms throughout Australia.
