The Australian Sign & Graphics Association (ASGA) has scheduled a webinar on ‘managing bullying and psychological injuries in the workplace’ for 29 November at 2.00pm AEDT.

ASGA’s legal and business advisor, Warwick Ryan of Hicksons Lawyers, will conduct this session and outline how psychological injuries now comprise about a quarter of all workers compensation claims and that the lost days for psychological claims are generally three times that of an average physical injury.

The risks that businesses face because of this proliferation of such claims will be presented as well as strategies to help a business minimise the risk of such claims.

The webinar will be moderated by Vernon Kingman of Kingman Strategies.

“Managing employees is becoming increasingly complex, with safe work policies constantly changing and more demands being placed on management to ensure both the physical and mental wellbeing of its staff are considered. Any business owner that has had to navigate claims of bullying and stress leave would appreciate the value of guidance in this area,” ASGA president Mick Harrold said.
