Auctions of two collapsed printers held this week

In a bid to recover the debts of collapsed Melbourne digital printer The Printcentre, liquidators from Grant Thornton put the company’s machinery and other assets under the hammer yesterday at 11am.

The auction was conducted by Lockwood & Co on behalf of liquidator Stephen Dixon and was held at The Printcentre’s premises on 112-118 Northview Drive, Sunshine West Victoria.

The assets up for grabs included digital printers, large format specialist plant machinery, equipment, stock, Kongsberg Esko Routers, laptops and PCs, office furniture and equipment, motor vehicles, and a forklift.

The Printcentre collapsed in August unbeknownst to staff who turned up to work to find the doors of the business locked.

The business went into liquidation shortly after, both owners Darren Soppi and John Doyle have not been seen or heard from since.

Another auction of a high profile print shop will take place today after Adelaide’s Five Star Print collapsed into liquidation late last month.

Included are half a dozen wide format printers from Epson, Mimaki and HP, a couple of Heidelberg cylinder presses, Creo and Agfa CTP systems, folders, Polar guillotines and other finishing kit, and pallet loads of paper, inks and toners.

The auctioneer is Morgan Gray Strange in Adelaide, auction is 10.30am in Netley.
