Prinergy Evo is a workflow solution for controlling prepress, plate and/or film production.
Creo says the solution is a key building block of a complete Creo solution, increasing workflow efficiency and reduces the cost of production.
The system offers advanced normalising, colour management, trapping and screening, end-to-end native PDF workflow, an intuitive interface and template-based workflow automation, and JDF import and export for information exchange and system integration. Creo says that the main drawcard of this solution is its low cost of ownership compared to the levels of productivity and quality production it offers. At Spectrum, it is being used to operate the company’s Creo Lotem 400 CTP device.
According to David Elliot, Spectrum Printing director, his company went with the Prinergy Evo system due to his belief in Creo’s commitment to the technology.
“We felt it was the best overall package for our business. We believe that there is some uncertainty as to the level of commitment by some of the suppliers to CTP technology, and we believe that Creo are real winners in this department,” says Elliot.
“From a comfort level also, we felt that if anyone was going to look after us, it was Creo. We know that we have a technology here that will grow with our business. Also in regards to our Lotem 400, we have gone with the scaled down model, and we are able to bolt the expansions onto the device as we need to.”
What makes this printer additionally innovative is that it is the first Australian Creo user to make the move to using Toray waterless plates, supplied by JL Lennard. The Toray Waterless Plate permits offset printing without the need for water dampening. Combining a special silicone rubber with a proprietary image-formation principle, the plates are available in both positive and negative types and boast high quality printing, excellent cost-effectiveness brought about by improved printing productivity, and outstanding environmental characteristics.
