Australian comic printer appears on national TV campaign

Blackhouse Comics, which is one of Australia’s largest independent comic book publishers, was approached by the insurer to use its products in two separate ads, which carry the message that Youi is a “good listener”.

Jeffries Printing managing director Baden Kirgan told ProPrint that the commercial was filmed in Kings Comics in Sydney, which was outfitted with Blackhouse comic books and graphic novel titles, posters, paraphernalia and props.

“They had originally tried to use a Star Wars concept, but they couldn’t get the rights, so they looked to local publishers. They approached us and they were really impressed with The Soldier Legacy,” he said.

“The best thing about The Soldier Legacy is the way it blends the superhero genre with the true Australian hero, the Anzac, and Youi have done a great job of honouring both with this ad.”

The ads are currently being aired on commercial networks nationally.

Stay tuned for a forthcoming story on another “top secret” television appearance for Blackhouse Comics.
